Honoring a legacy, empowering futures

The Richard Ruez Foundation was established in Houston, Texas, in 2025 by Coach Richard Ruez. The Foundation is dedicated to helping Memorial High School Track and Field student-athletes pursue higher education and build successful futures through scholarship opportunities.

By investing in the academic goals of deserving student-athletes, the Foundation continues Coach Ruez's commitment to encouraging excellence both on and off the field. Through its scholarship program, the Foundation promotes the qualities of hard work, perseverance, and character that Coach Ruez instilled in generations of athletes throughout his 42-year coaching career.
